Welcome to Noor App ("we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
By using Noor App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information:
- Name and email address (for account creation)
- Google account information (if you sign in with Google)
- Username chosen by you
Usage Data:
- Prayer tracking data (which prayers you mark as completed)
- Streak and performance statistics
- Tasbih counter data
- Location data (city only, for accurate prayer times)
- Device compass data (for Qibla direction only)
Social Features:
- Friend connections you make within the app
- Messages and interactions with friends (dua requests, tasbih gifts)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app's functionality
- To calculate accurate prayer times for your location
- To track your prayer streaks and Islamic activities
- To enable social features between friends
- To send prayer time notifications (with your permission)
- To improve our app and user experience
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which is a secure, cloud-based platform. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
5. AI Features (Noor AI)
Noor App includes an AI-powered Islamic knowledge assistant. When you use this feature:
- Your questions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing
- We track daily query count (limited to 10 per day) to prevent abuse
- We do not store the content of your AI conversations permanently

6. Permissions We Request
- Location: To determine your city for accurate prayer times and Qibla direction
- Notifications: To send prayer time reminders (optional)
- Internet: To sync data and fetch prayer times
- Camera/Storage: Only for profile photos and Islamic card creation
7. Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. Upon deletion:
- All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers
- Your prayer records and streaks will be removed
- Your social connections will be removed
8. Children's Privacy
Noor App is designed for users of all ages including Muslim children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is necessary for the app to function. Parents may contact us to request deletion of their child's data.
9. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase: Data storage and authentication
- Anthropic Claude API: AI Islamic knowledge assistant
- Aladhan API: Prayer time calculations
- Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
